Angels’ Keep
By David W Sweet
There was a black horse
Who rode on the wind.
Some said he belonged to the cowboys
Who committed great sin.
But others said, “No,
He belongs to no one.
The devil tried to ride him
However, off he was spun.”

Humiliation
By David W Sweet
From the edge of stillness
the chill wind suddenly blows
across the midsummer’s prairie.
It’s an evil wind manifested in
the past. It appears from nowhere
suddenly and fleetingly.
The past was once of freedom
and wild herds,
the native man’s peace
with Earth, and solitude.

Homework Help
By David W Sweet
Imagine jumping through windows of time.
As you look back they no longer exist . . .
it’s very peaceful.
Each trap door leads to many others.
There’s no free fall; you must pull
yourself up.
As you jump from the cliff, time accelerates—
to a standstill.
The fog bank surrounds and moves with you.
Your area inside is clear; what to do?

Time Darkness
By David W Sweet
Quiet please . . .
Darkness has fallen on time;
easy for darkness,
difficult for time,
not to mention the humans
in three dimensions.
The going is fine until you encounter it;
others will leave you behind.
Or perhaps a “separation” is better said;
a minor change in your reality.
